,JKMM Architects
Päivi Meuronen (1967) has been the driving force behind JKMM Architects’ interior designs
since 2003. She was the first interior architect to join JKMM, and today she leads the team of
ten interior architects.
Meuronen is talented designer of public spaces. She uses creatively colours and materials to
create well-curated and unique interiors for different types of customers. Her work as part of
the architect design team in JKMM Architects has produced a number of comprehensive
works, where the architecture and interior design form a seamless unity.
Her innovative design approach is discoverable eg. in Viikki Church, Turku and Seinäjoki City
Libraries, Finnish Pavilion “Kirnu” in Shanghai EXPO 2010, Saunalahti Daycare Center, Espoo,
Aalto University Learning Center, Espoo and Kalasatama School and Daycare Center, Helsinki.
Projects under construction: Amos REX Art Museum (completed 2018).
Her work Harald Herlin Learning Center (with NRT Architects) was awarded with Finlandia
Prize for Architecture 2017.
She is awarded with The State Prize for Design 2013 (together with Aimo Katajamäki) and the Interior Architect of the Year, Finnish Designer Award ’13 (the Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo).

Finnish architect office JKMM Architects was founded in 1998 by Asmo Jaaksi, Teemu Kurkela, Samuli Miettinen and Juha Mäki-Jyllilä.
JKMM Architects provides versatile services in different architectural areas: building design, interior design, work environment design, furniture design, area and city design, as well as repair construction.
