Dr. Vesna Petresin, FRSA, is a transdisciplinary artist and researcher working with performance and public art.
Her practice integrates voice, movement, sound, visuals, light and interaction. The work explores immersion, embodiment, transformation and time, alongside the questions of the intimate and the communal, the organic and the artificial, the body and the subconscious, the art and the science.
Vesna has exhibited and performed at Tate Modern, ArtBasel Miami, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Academy of Arts, Venice Biennale, Cannes International Film Festival, Institute of Contemporary Arts London, Sydney Opera House, Vienna Secession, CERN, Beijing Architecture Biennale...
She is currently Artist in Residence and Visiting Lecturer at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, as well as a Visiting Fellow at Goldsmiths (UL).
Vesna has lectured in architecture, design, media art, performing arts, interdisciplinary studies and theory, at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), Central Saint Martins (UAL), ZKM. Her work has been awarded innovation grants, patents and public art commissions. She has chaired R&D projects in digital design, has been advisor to Hypersurface Architecture, Arup and Balmond Studio, and published internationally (Springer, Thames & Hudson, Wiley Academy, ACM).
